First of all, I do not share the empathy of many fellow Koreans regarding - protesting to have the president impeached. The president, in many cases one could argue has violated the constitution - especially when it comes to the protection of its people. In which case, I totally stand side by side with many, that this president is impeachable in every single way without slightest doubt.
However, one needs to ask, if he were ever to get impeached by the members of the National Assembly; those blood sucking, law-bending sharks, not much different from president himself, would we be anymore satisfied by the "other guy"? It is mind-boggling to me, that this, such great nation (even with such anachronistic, dictatorial president, my country, Republic of Korea still is one of the very successful countries in the world) just cannot find one decent human being to be a president.
Why do we always satisfy ourselves just to have “some guy” to be our president? Why didn’t we ask such questions before, to ever have such undeserving candidate ever come up in our ballot? I mean doesn’t this country, people want and deserve to have someone worthy of that position? Not a religious hack, a liar, who doesn’t seem to know thing about “diplomacy,” or being a “statesman” but another pathetic joker on the international stage of power politics to represent me, my people and my country. But sure to our fault, we’ve got what we asked for – the guy, the candidate who were involved in more scandals that one could ever imagine in a single campaign, gets elected to be the President of Republic of Korea. Yes, it was us who voted for him and yes, it was us who didn’t show up on the Election Day. In politics, those who show up only get counted and the winner gets all. He has the Blue House the air force One –or equivalent of that-, sits in a “President Desk and Chair” but the worst of all is that, he makes the decision which does change our lives. This time it was the Mad-Cow or the meat of the Downer cows that will be imported to be on our dinner tables.
Yes, we elected him and it sucks. It sucks big time – sorry I couldn’t find more polite way to say this, but it sucks. This administration got rid of more ministry and councils which included the advisors who could “advise” not to have these kind of troubles, but guess what?! MB, who seem to HATE the internet and the Korean people who uses it, shut down the Information Agency (국정홍보처) only to have Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (문화체육관광부). I’m sure we don’t need those agencies, in fact MB administration needs this agency more than any other administrations but guess what, they got rid of it themselves… no one to blame though I simply can imagine them blaming on the former administration – it seems to be the only thing that they are very good at it. Fine liars, just very fine liars.
At the end, are they – going to erase this posting on ground of “defamation of character?” like they did to the guy who had written the “Impeachment Song” (탄핵송) and uploaded on the internet? Please, just before you do that, re-read the constitution, Chapter 2, where it talks about the rights of people – I’m talking about the KOREAN, ROK constitution! Weren’t I supposed to believe in those, laws, especially those marked with the big fat bold lettering, saying constitution? Seriously, I thought I was living in DEMOCRATIC country.
I have never doubted about this country, especially this one - ever since studying an international politics and whatnot, I have always believed the people of this country. Korean people have somehow always managed to come up with something to get them out of those horrible times. Despite all the achievements since the 20th century, since the creation of the "
Sometimes, it's people who makes the great leaders, throughout the times of bad and good - it is not the one being who can manage such complex system like running a country. Honestly, I don't think this is anyone’s fault. Surely, MB was NEVER EVER the choice of mine to be a president but we elected him. We elected the guy who we always knew to lack in decency and conscience. We might not like what he did and most definitely what he will do in next 5 years time, however declaring a war on the president never solves a problem. After all, he is the one who can order the police to crush all the "peaceful demonstrations.”
Now would be a good time, that people of this country, who always seem to find solutions for its problems better than its leaders to come together and once again prove the greatness of the "people"(민중) I, desperately wish that peace would soon come to this nation.

-라는 말이 너무나도 와닿는다는 것이 문제.라면 문제인것 같습니다.
"조용하게 살고 싶어"라는 바람은, 졸업을 하고 밖에 나가지도 않고 집에만 있는다고 해도.
어찌나 이렇게 사건사고들이 발생하며 사람 심장을 놓았다 쥐었다 해 주시는지 - ...
웃기지도 않아서... 어처구니가 어이와 손을 잡고 가출을 하게 만든, 소고기 수입관련 일들이라던가,
오늘(12시가 넘었으니 technically 어제)의 쇠고기 청문회라던가....
개그콘서트라던가 개그야-라던가 한번도 보지 않아서 모르겠지만, 분명히 이쪽이 더 우스울 것이라고 장담할 수 있을 것 같습니다.
정부쪽의 의견들도 믿을 수 없지만 (쓴웃음) 인터넷 그리고 PD모수첩쪽의 이야기만을 믿는 것도 현명하지 않것만
-아니, PD모수첩의 충분히 편파적인 방송때문에 시작되었던 황우석교수님의 일들이라던가,를 벌써 잊은건가 싶을정도로.
결국에는 시청률을 위해 만드는 프로그램이니까요.
그나저나, MB를 뽑은 사람들-그후.라는 것으로는 방송할 계획 없으신가 싶네요. -피식-

요즘 참 즐겁게(-_-) 읽은 기사가 있다면, 서울시의 "서울시 한강 르네상스 프로젝트"관련된
기사들이였는데, 첫번째로 반포대교에 낙하분수 건설:
"서울시는 ‘한강르네상스 프로젝트’에 따라 내년 4월까지 539억원을 들여 이 같은 내용의
‘반포권역 특화사업’을 추진할 계획이라고 29일 밝혔다.
시는 우선 이날 ‘반포대교 분수 설치공사’에 들어가 9월 초 완공할 계획이다" (출처: 글밑의 1 참조)
-라고 한답니다. 뭐, 외국인 관광유치라던가, 그 밖에-분명 더 많은 "좋은" 이유들이 있겠지요-_--
있겠지만서도, 539억원이라는 적지 않은 돈을 그저 "서울을 이쁘게 치장"하기위해서 씌여진다는 것에
이의가 있는건... 저뿐일까요?
보기 좋은 도시- 이전에, 살기 좋은 도시-는 어떨까 싶네요.
비록, 살기 좋은 도시 쪽이 100만배쯤 이루기 어렵고, 알아주는 사람 몇 없을 계획이기도 하겠지만,
정치적으로도 켐페인 하기 어려운 쪽에 속하는것을 누구보다 더 잘 알고 있겠지만,
시장,이라던가 국회의원이라던가, 대통령-이라던가.
그저 "겉모습 이쁘게 보이기"가 no.1 과제였다면, 저기 장동건씨를 대통령으로-하고 배용준씨를 외무장관으로 해도 되지 않나요?
뭣하러- 라는 기분입니다.
거기다, 한강분수-가 그나마 용서가 된다면, 이 기사의 내용은 어떠실지 궁금합니다.
한강다리에 커피숍을 만들어 놓겠답니다.
서울시와 경찰청은 소음과 진동 방지를 위해 이들 다리 위에선 차량이 시속 40㎞ 이상 내지 못하도록 속도제한을 실시키로 했다
서울시는 한남 잠실 동작 광진 마포 한강 양화대교 등 7개 다리에 전망대형 카페와 버스정류장,엘리베이터 등을 설치해 서울의 명물로 만들 계획이라고 17일 밝혔다.
시는 이 중 한남 잠실 동작 광진 마포 등 5개 다리에 대한 공사는 오는 12월까지,한강 양화대교 공사는 내년 상반기 안에 마무리짓기로 했다.
투입 예산은 326억원이다.
한강다리 위에 지어진 멋진 카페에서 연인과 함께 야경을 보며 커피를 마실 수 있게 된다.

이쁘겠지요. 멋있겠지요. 하지만, 정말 이게 필요한것일까요? 싶네요.
다리가 건너라고 있는것일텐데, 시속 40km/h로 제한시키고, 소음과 진동방지... -_- 가 먼저라니.
도시 한중간에 강이 떡-하니 버티고 있어 건너기 위해서 만들어놓은 것 아녔던가요? 다리라는 건?
한국에 오래 살지 않아서 잘못 알고 있는 것일수도 있겠습니다만, 저 7개의 다리의 하루 교통량이라던가-
러쉬아워 시간이 더더욱 고통스러워 질것이라고 생각하는건... 저뿐인건가요?

멋있겠지요. 공사만 잘하면 환상적이겠지요. 하지만, 더 이상 제역할을 못하게 된다면 그게 "한강대교"인가요-
아니면 더럽게 비싼 커피샵.일까요-
그곳에서 파는 커피가 얼마나 할지 정말 궁금합니다.

근래에, 그렇게 노무현 대통령을 비난했었던 언론사들마저, 노대통령의 "평범하기 그지없는" 일상들을 뉴스화해서 올려지고 있는데,
개인적으로, 저는 그이 "자기 일을 다 마치고", "자기의 한 행동에 떳떳한",
그래서 "만족함"에 대한 표정들을 보고 있노라면,
-대통령으로 어떤 평가를 받았고, 받게 될 것인가를 떠나서, 그 레벨의 사고할 줄 아는 능력이라던가,
그의 사람으로써의 철학을 비슷하게나마 따라갈 수 있는 대한민국 대통령이 제 생에 나올까 심히 궁금해진답니다.
...퇴임 전, M본부에서 했던 대통령-에 관한 2부작 프로그램을 보았는데,
이제 며칠만 있으면 청와대를 나가실 분이, 청와대 곳곳을 수리하고, 다시 하고 - 그러시더랍디다.
그래서 왜-라는 질문을 했더니만, "새로 와서, 자기집 먼저 꾸미는데 돈 들이기 힘든것이 대통령"이라서
"이런 것은 나가는 사람이 해줘야 하는 것"이라고 말씀하시더군요.
너무 sarcastic한것 아니냐-라는 비난을 들을지도 모르겠지만, 노대통령은 하지 않으셔도 되셨을, 다시말해 괜한 걱정을 하셨던 것 같습니다.
친구중에 MIT에서 물리/수학을 전공한 친구가 있는데, 얼마전에 연락이 오기를 public policy, 공공정책/정치쪽에 들어갈 예정이라고 하더군요.
보통-사람들이 평생 살면서 단한번이라도 쓸모있을 것 같지도 않던 수학문제들을 풀어내던 아이가, 제가 이쪽 공부를 한다며 워싱턴에 대학을 넣을때
비난 아닌 비난을 하던 녀석이 "어쩐일이야?"라고도 했것만, 스스로 했으나 기억하지도 못하는 제 말이-
옳다고 생각하게 되어서 옮기게 되었다고, 그래서 이메일을 쓴다고 말해주더라고요.
-그 어려운 수학문제보다 더 어려운 것들이 있었다고. 그 중에 하나가 "살기좋은 나라"를 만드는 "문제"라고 하더군요.
(이제서야 깨달았냐?)라고 전화해서 놀려주었지만, 확실히 쉽지 않다는 것은 알고 있으니까요.
서울시 시장도 분명히 한강대교에 저런걸-_- 만들기 전에는 수많은 시간 참모들로부터 의견도 받았을것이고, 고민도 했을것이고(hopefully)
MB역시 불같은 국민성을 갖은 나라의 대통령이 되어, 쉬운 일이라고는 하나도 없을 것이 분명하지만
-대통령.의 일이 쉬어서는 절대로 안된다고 생각하지만-
그럼에도 불구하고, 그 자리에 오른 사람에게 최소한의 decency라던가 morality를 기대하는 건 당연한 것이며, 또 그 수준에 미치지 못했을때
국민들에게서의 비난은 당연하다고 생각합니다.

그리고 지금의 비난은, 더 낮아질 수 조차 없는 "기대치"에 "미치기는" 커녕 헐값에 국민을 팔아버린
대통령 답지 못한, 그저 이익만 생각한 비지니스맨 적인 선택의 당연한 결과입니다.
...앞으로 5년.
모든 의미에서, 기대 반.과 근심 반.입니다.
마지막으로 -
865억원. 서울시 다리들을 "치장"하는데 쓰일 비용.입니다.
네, 저 말고 이 돈으로 더 "쓸모 있는" 일을 하실 수 있을 것 같다고 생각하시는 분들 손(!)입니다.
아무런 생각없이(-_-) 저 돈의 가치를 더 높힐 수 있을 것 같은 곳이라면,
Homeless/Poor, child-care facilities for working parents, victims of crimes, education for "uneducated"
"Help" signs, better traffic lights for pedestrians, young mom/dad, single parent households,
more/free libraries, better mortgage plan for first time home owners, ... 등등등.
이름만 들어도 다 알만한 국내/외 대학/대학원들에서 석사학위, 박사학위 등은 그렇게 삐까뻔쩍한
액자에 걸어서 자랑해놓으시더만, 정작... 그곳에서 "배운" "깨달은"것들은 언제 써먹으실 예정입니까?
가르쳐만 주신다면 달력에 표시해 놓고 매년, 케익사다 촛불꽂아놓고 노래도 불러드릴 수 각오가 되어있습니다. -싱긋-
